HOW IT WORKS FOR PLAYERS
Your choices are the game. Mint your story to keep it, and they decide what you win.
Pick a character and make your choices. No wallet, no sign-up — every story is free to play.
Like how it went? Mint it. Your story card saves your progress and keeps the story you made — your character, your choices and what you found — in your wallet.
Prizes are hidden along some paths, and where is kept secret until the story's deadline. Then the map is opened: if your minted story reached a prize, you win it. If more stories got there than there are prizes, they split it evenly; an NFT prize goes to stories drawn at random.
01 / HOW TO CREATE
Templates already include characters, scenes, choices and artwork. Make the adventure yours, then set the rewards: keys are always included, prizes are optional. Set the price to mint a story, review, fund the prizes, and publish.
02 / WHAT PLAYERS KEEP
Players keep the story they made, the keys they found, and a share of any prize their choices reached. You choose and fund the prizes.
Playing is free. To keep a story, a player mints it: the story card saves their progress and records their character and choices. It is also what takes part in the prizes.
Price set by you · Network fees may applyEvery game has collectible keys. Players collect the ones their story found to their wallets, and you can require those keys for prizes in later episodes.
Kept in the wallet · Using a key does not destroy itOffer ETH, USDC, other tokens or NFTs, hidden along some of the story’s paths. Where they are stays secret until the deadline; then every minted story that reached a prize wins it. Anything nobody wins comes back to you.
Won by the stories that reach them · Not guaranteedIllustrative assets. Each published episode lists its actual price to mint, rewards, deadline, and requirements.
03 / REASONS TO RETURN
Connect your episodes with collectible keys. For example, a key found in episode one can make a player eligible for a prize in episode two.
Create an adventure seriesA player’s choices lead to the Core Key, and they mint the story.
The key stays in the player’s wallet.
The next episode has a prize that requires the Core Key.
Example series. Each episode’s story is minted on its own. Holding a key qualifies you; your choices still have to reach the prize.

COMMON QUESTIONS
ROM is a builder for cinematic and comic story games. Anyone can play free: take a character through the scenes and make choices that shape the story. A player who likes the story they made can mint it, and a minted story wins the prizes its choices reached.
Yes. Every story is free to play, with no wallet and no sign-up. Minting is optional: it keeps the story you made, and it is what takes part in the prizes. The price to mint is set by each story's creator.
It saves your story as a story card in your wallet: your character, every choice you made, and the keys and items you found, which you can collect to your wallet. A story you play without minting is gone when you leave. Your choices are locked in the moment you mint, so they count for the prizes.
The creator hides prizes along some of the story's paths and locks that map in before anyone plays. Where the prizes are stays secret until the story's deadline, so nobody can copy a winning route. Then the map is opened: every minted story whose choices reached a prize wins it. If more stories reached a prize than it has units, they split it evenly; an NFT prize goes to stories drawn at random. Prizes are not guaranteed.
The quickest route is a ready-made template: its characters, scenes, choices and artwork are already included. Customize it, set the price to mint a story and the rewards, review, and publish. Timing depends on your edits, any new AI generation, and wallet transactions.
Every game comes with collectible keys. Add prizes if you like, in ETH, USDC, other tokens or NFTs, and choose where in the story they are found. Studio shows what a minted story can expect to win against its price, and will not publish a story that pays out more than it costs to mint.
The most you can ever pay out is the prizes you deposit when you publish. Anything nobody wins comes back to you after the prize period.
Keys are collectibles players find in a story and collect to their wallets. A creator can require a key from one episode for a prize in another. Using a key does not destroy it. You still need to mint the new episode's story, and your choices still have to reach the prize.
The creator deposits the crypto and NFTs offered as prizes when publishing, so the prizes exist before anyone plays. After the reveal, winners have a week to claim, and are paid from that deposit.
You pay a publishing fee and deposit the prizes you offer. The publishing fee depends on the episode’s format and size. You can review these amounts before publishing. Every blockchain transaction also has a small network fee, paid by whoever sends it.
Writing and artwork use AI credit, which you add with USDC or ROM (paying in ROM gives you extra credit). Buttons that use credit show their price. Starting a new series needs at least $5 of credit in your account.
